What you will find in the water and sauna world

Hotel Bystrá stands at the start of the Bystrá valley, below the south side of Chopok. Its wellness covers 2,000 m² and is divided into two parts: the water world and the sauna world. People who are not staying at the hotel can use both.

The water world has a large pool, which the hotel calls the largest hotel pool on the south side of Chopok. With it come a children’s pool, large and small water spouts, water jets for massage, a wild river with a counter-current, a geyser and a water mushroom. There are also a whirlpool, massage loungers and benches, three massage showers and a relaxation zone with a view of the stream.

The sauna world has four saunas: Finnish, infrared, steam and salt. Besides them there is a Kneipp bath, a separate whirlpool, a cooling pool, a cooling bucket and an experience shower. In the relaxation zone you get a drink free. Massages, wraps and treatments are booked separately.

It is a hotel wellness area, not an aqua park. Do not look for water slides or outdoor pools here. But for two to three hours of swimming, sitting in a whirlpool and sauna after a hike or a day of skiing it is enough, and it is close by.

How much entry costs

The price list is valid from 1 January 2026 and prices include VAT. You buy entry for 2 or 3 hours. The “person” category means everyone aged 15 and over.

Non-resident guests 2 hours 3 hours
Water world, from 15 years €20 €24
Water world, children 6 - 14 years €10 €12
Water and sauna world, from 15 years €26 €30
Water and sauna world, children 6 - 14 years €13 €15
Family 2 + 1 child (water and sauna world) €56 €62
Family 2 + 2 children (water and sauna world) €66 €72

Children up to 5 are free. The lower regional admission applies only to people with permanent residence in Brezno district who show an identity card.

The hotel also offers several discounts:

  • seniors over 60 20% (with an identity card),
  • ZŤP disability card holders 30%,
  • groups of 7 or more people over 15 10%,
  • on your birthday 50% off the basic entry of your choice.

Discounts cannot be combined and do not apply to regional admission. The wellness website also publishes a happy hour offer: Monday to Thursday, if you buy entry between 12:00 and 13:00, the 2-hour water world costs €16 instead of €20 and the water and sauna world €20 instead of €26.

If you are staying in the area for longer, look at the multi-entry passes too. For €119 you get 12 one-hour entries to the water world, and for €159 12 one-hour entries to the water and sauna world.

Entry for the public and for hotel guests

The conditions differ depending on whether you are staying at the hotel.

Guests of Hotel Bystrá have all-day entry to the water world included in the room price. They pay a supplement of €9 a day for the sauna world per person aged 15 and over, and €4.50 per child aged 6 to 14. Anyone with a stay package of services, for example Bystrá voľba, has the saunas free.

Everyone else, including guests of nearby guesthouses and apartments, pays the non-resident price list from the table above. Entry is limited to 2 or 3 hours. For capacity reasons the hotel recommends announcing your visit in advance. The easiest way is to call the wellness reception on +421 48 6195 835 or write to wellness@hotelbystra.sk.

Children in the pool and the sauna

With children the water world is simple: the children’s pool, water spouts, geyser and wild river will keep them busy, and children up to 5 do not pay. For the saunas there is a rule that is easy to forget: children under 14 may enter the sauna world only until 15:00. If the whole family wants to go to the saunas, plan the wellness for the morning or lunchtime. In the afternoon the children can stay in the water world with one of the parents.

The family ticket pays off when you go to both the water world and the sauna world. For two adults and two children aged 6 to 14, 3 hours cost €72; individually it would be €90.

Massages

Massages, wraps and treatments are booked at the wellness reception. The price list of additional services on the hotel’s website is valid from 17 February 2023 and gives, for example:

  • classic back and neck massage, 20 minutes: €25,
  • classic massage of the back, neck and back of the legs, 45 minutes: €45,
  • classic massage with lava stones, 40 minutes: €45,
  • lower limbs massage, 30 minutes: €30.

Because the price list is older, check the current price when you book. Arrange a time a few days ahead, especially at the weekend.

When to go

The wellness is open from 11:00 on Monday and from 10:00 from Tuesday to Sunday, always until 21:30. The hotel reserves the right to change the opening hours, so on a longer stay a short phone call is worth it.

During the day the wellness suits days when it rains or the ridge is windy. In the evening it suits after skiing on Chopok or after a hike up Ďumbier, when you do not feel like sitting in the car. Check-in at Bosorka Apartments is from 15:00, so you can fit in the wellness on the day of arrival. With children who want to go in the sauna, remember the 15:00 limit.

Getting there from Bystrá

Hotel Bystrá is in the village of Bystrá at the address Bystrá 119. From Bosorka Apartments it is across the road, a few minutes on foot; the exact distance is in the box above. You do not have to move the car, and after the sauna you do not have to think about driving.

There is wheelchair access to the wellness only on request and with the help of staff, without access to the changing rooms. If you need it, get in touch in advance.

What to bring

  • Swimwear and flip-flops.
  • A towel. Hotel guests over 18 receive a bathrobe; whether towels and bathrobes are also hired out to non-guests, check when you announce your visit.
  • A sheet or a larger towel for the sauna, if you are planning the sauna world.
  • Swim nappies and something to drink for the children.
  • An identity card if you want the senior or regional discount, and your ZŤP card.

What to combine it with

Bystrianska Cave is also in the village and can be combined with the wellness for a quiet rainy day. If you want a bigger pool world, with a 25 m pool and eight saunas, see the Roman-style Caracalla Spa in Brusno.
