Winter below Chopok
From Bosorka you reach three ski areas within ten minutes: Slovakia’s largest ski resort through its southern entrance at Krupová, and family-friendly Tále and Mýto pod Ďumbierom, both with night skiing.
The southern gateway to Slovakia’s largest ski resort. From Krupová (1,084 m) the gondola takes you to Kosodrevina and on to Chopok (2,024 m), where you connect over the ridge with the north side and Jasná. The south side is sunny, and the snowmaking-covered pistes keep running even when natural snow thins out.
Buy your ski pass online in advance via GOPASS - it is usually cheaper than at the ticket office and you skip the morning queue.
A family resort 3 km from Bosorka: 2.7 km of pistes with snowmaking, six lifts, easy and intermediate runs and night skiing. Cross-country skiers have four loops, 5.5 km in total, groomed when there is natural snow.
Good for the evening of your arrival day: in winter 2025/26 Tále had night skiing on Fridays and Mýto on several evenings a week. Check the current days on the resort website.
Mýto pod Ďumbierom, 2 km from Bosorka: 4.6 km of pistes, a chairlift and five drag lifts, ski school, rental and ski service. A restaurant right at the slope.
A good choice for kids in ski school while the adults head up Chopok.
The southern slopes of Chopok and Ďumbier are popular with ski tourers. Before every tour check the avalanche forecast of the Slovak Mountain Rescue Service and only go with avalanche gear (transceiver, shovel, probe) - and never alone.
